Bali Brings Home Gold from Salon Culinaire 2009.
Bali, 27 April 2009…In a stunning victory, Bali’s team for the Asian Pastry Cup swept the competition at Jakarta’s Salon Culinaire 2009 to bring home the gold trophy and once again gain the Indonesian selection to compete in The Asian Pastry Cup in Singapore next year.
The finalists in The Singapore competition will progress to the World pastry Cup, held every two years in Lyon, France, regarded as the ultimate prize for pastry chefs.

INDONESIA WINS DESSERT CATEGORY IN MLA BACK BOX GLOBAL FINALS

Indonesia team, represented by Bulgari Bali Hotels and Resorts, wins the best dessert category in the bi- annual MLA Black box Global Finals in Dubai UEA at the Madinat Jumeirah, May 14th. The team came in 7th place from 19 countries that joined the competition. Overall, Asian countries took home most of the awards. Diego Martinelli (Italian Chef for the Bulgari Bali) and his team I Dewa Agung Putu Karawisa and Bayu Retno Timur, with their team leader Darren Lauder from Bali Culinary Professionals, showed an outstanding effort at the black box taking home the best dessert category.
BALI CULINARY PROFESSIONALS TAKE PART IN THE 2007 FOOD & HOTEL INDONESIA EXHIBITION
Bali Culinary Professionals (BCP) as the official WACS member representing Indonesia was invited to attend The Food & Hotel Indonesia, in accordance to their goal of exposing and promoting Balinese cuisine.
Here, the participants met officials and business people from various countries, initiate contacts, expanding their network, exchange information and expanding business into the international markets. BCP members who attended among them were Jeremy Cooper, Rick Bolt, Markus Krickelberg, Stefan Mueller and Made Putra, with Stefan Mueller acting as judge for the chef’s cooking competition.
BALI CULINARY PROFESSIONALS BECOMES A MEMBER OF WORLD ASSOCIATION OF CHEF’S SOCIETIES (WACS)
Bali Culinary Professionals’ President Markus Krickelberg announced the association’s membership effective March 2007 to the World Association of Chef’s Societies (WACS), a non-political professional organization with a global network of chefs associations dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisine.
PERFECT TEN OUT OF TEN
The success of last year’s Bali Culinary Professional Dinner enhanced the decision to create another spectacular event this year.
Themed “Ten out of Ten” this year’s event will introduce famed foreign and local chefs from all over Bali as well as inviting guest chefs from Singapore and Australia. The event is scheduled for October 28th 2006 at the Ritz Carlton Bali Resort & Spa.
MLA BLACK BOX CHALLENGE
An event indigenous to Bali, and now encompasses Chefs from all over the world is set to be staged on the island of the Gods, Bali. 50 young, talented and professional chefs from Hotels and Restaurants Island wide, will unite at the hotel Nikko Bali Resort & Spa on October 26, 2006 for the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge. The Black Box challenge is a unique competition where participating chefs will only receive a black box containing ingredients 24 hours prior to the start of the competition. The members of each team have to create a three course menu for 20 people maximizing the contents in the black box. This menu will be judged by a team of overseas Chefs, and served at a special dinner on October 26th.
