Seven Chefs, Seven Courses and Seven Distinctive Flavors at Bali Culinary Professional’s First

Bali, October 10, 2005 … It is an indisputable fact that the Island of the Gods, Bali is a melting pot of artistic talents of carving, dancing and music, and probably this is the very reason why recent years have seen the gastronomic scene in Bali bubbling like steaming broth. Art is a day-to-day lifestyle of the island and when art permeates into the kitchen, it simply means good food and great selections of cuisines.

So what happens when seven of Bali’s finest chefs come together to cook for dinner?

An exciting evening of culinary journey is promised at Bali Culinary Professional’s First Gala Dinner on October 15, 2005 at The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa.

The event is the first of its kind in Bali providing opportunity for guests to sample the signature dishes of seven chefs, all famous celebrities in Bali’s culinary scene. Working together to create the seven-course sit down dinner are Richard Miller from The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa, Chris Salans and Francois Suerin from Mozaic Restaurant, Gary Rosen from Conrad Bali Resort & Spa, Martin MacLeod from The Oberoi Bali, Nam Nguyen from The Legian and Andre Buser from The Bale. With the backgrounds of these chefs coming from around the globe, the dinner served on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. is an odyssey for the palette, from cocktail to cold appetizer, soup, warm appetizer, sorbet, main course, cheese and dessert.

‘Live” recording out of the kitchen will be telecasted on big screens to share the excitement and some of the top wine producers are committing to put together a special wine selection to match the menu.

“Themed around the kitchen, the evening has limited seating as we are obviously not able to serve a large number.” Informed Markus Krickelberg, President of Bali Culinary Professionals. “However we aim to organize this as an annual event which will be bigger and better each year.

Dinner is at Rp 1,200,000 per person inclusive of food, beverage, DJ session and a ‘live’ band for entertainment who is still kept as a surprise.
